EREPS - Social Inclusion
English

The European Commission recognises the ability of sport to break down barriers. As with any physical activity, fitness can be a powerful tool to bring together people from all kinds of backgrounds – in particular from disadvantaged groups –  too. The #BeInclusive EU Sport Awards want to highlight and celebrate activities, projects and programmes that do so.

Are you working with ethnic minorities, refugees, people with disabilities, youth groups at-risk, or any other group that faces challenging social circumstances? The Commission invites all organisations in Europe – public or private, commercial or not-for-profit – that have successfully developed sport projects aimed at social inclusion to enter their initiatives. Projects will be evaluated according to their contribution to social inclusion through sport. Winning projects will be showcased to inspire other organisations and individuals around Europe – but sharing a project can earn much more than well-deserved recognition: the winning projects will also be awarded €10,000! The 3 winners will be announced in November at a special awards ceremony in Brussels.

They will also have the opportunity to present their projects to an audience of sport inclusion experts and receive their €10,000 awards. Six preselected projects will each receive €2,500. The call for entries is open and will close on 30 June 2020, 12:00 Brussels time. For more information and how to apply, please see here.
