English

The European Week of Sport Handbook for 2019 has been published to fully inform people about the European Week of Sport, a European Commission’s initiative which runs from 23 to 30 of September and encourages European citizens to be more active and embrace healthy lifestyles. The 2019 communication toolkit includes campaign objectives, target audience, key hooks, messaging, social media and much more.

The 5th annual Week is expected to be the biggest ever, with 47 partner associations, EuropeActive included, and 41 countries. The communications handbook provides information and guidance on key aspects like the campaign messaging, which is based on 5 main pillars; Education, Outdoors, Workplace, Fitness centres and Sport clubs. Besides, it emphasizes the impact the Week has on social media, with different channels like Twitter or Facebook used to promote campaign messages and communications materials.

The Week also proposes different activities such as the #5minChallenge in which social media users are challenged to post their pictures and/or videos of their 5-minute workouts. Another key activity is the #BeActive Night, with night activities programmed throughout Europe on Saturday 28th September.

EuropeActive and EREPS fully support the European Week Of Sport with the #LetsBEACTIVE project, targeting up inactive adults aged 18-55 in 8 different EU countries.
